Business Owners, Managers Invited to Participate in 2022 Salary Survey

    Sept. 20, 2022
We want to know if you've increased technician salaries to support recruiting and retention, as a response to COVID walk-aways who have not returned, or as a response to rampant inflation.

Contracting Business is conducting a technician salary survey, and we invite residential and commercial HVAC business owners or business managers in a firm to participate. We are conducting the survey for three reasons:

    1. The years 2020 to 2022 presented unprecedented challenges to owners of small businesses. The HVAC industry was never subjected to COVID lockdowns, however, many experienced a decrease in staffing and some business activity due to COVID concerns among workers who decided not to return to work and
customers who cancelled appointments, resulting in layoffs.

    2. The nation has been in the throes of rampant inflation, which may have influenced recent decisions to increase hourly technician pay.

    3. Recruiting challenges remain in the HVAC industry, and we want to know if salary increases have assisted you in finding and retaining HVAC field technicians.

Your answers will remain anonymous, but we ask those interested in discussing their responses to provide contact information. The survey and any interview commentary will be included in a feature article in Contracting Business magazine.

Upon completing the survey your name will be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card

Please limit responses to one per company.
