HFO Chiller Gets a Look at England Supermarket

From "across the pond," Britain's ACR News magazine reports the world's first HFO chiller has been installed in a trial at a Waitrose supermarket in Bromley, Kent. It uses a Honeywell HFO, R1234ze.

Britain's ACR News magazine reports the world's first HFO chiller, has been installed in a trial at a Waitrose supermarket in Bromley, Kent. It uses a Honeywell HFO, R1234ze.

ACR News reports the system uses two 180kW chillers with Frascold semi-hermetic compressors providing chilled water as a condensing medium for the in-store integral cases running on propene. CR News says tests on 8-cylinder recip compressors show about a 24% loss in capacity compared to R134a in varied conditions.
