Presentations related to World Refrigeration Day 2021 are focusing on "Cool Careers" that are to be found in refrigeration-related trades. To show its support for the event, Emerson will host an E360 webinar on Wednesday, July 7, at 9 am EDT, "Exploring Cool Careers and Emerging Opportunities in HVACR."
The webinar will feature global panelists focusing on the importance of attracting and recruiting the next generation of HVACR service technicians and include a roundtable discussion. It will build off the theme of "WRD 2021" by exploring the emerging career opportunities available in the HVACR technician profession.
Dr. Rajan Rajendran, vice president, system innovation center and sustainability at Emerson, said the opportunities in HVACR careers are plentiful, and provide appealing career paths.
“As the previous generations of technicians retire and fewer candidates enter the field, our industry faces an urgent need for skilled technicians,” said Dr. Rajendran. “This shortage has created an abundance of opportunities for young people seeking a viable long-term career path outside of a four-year college education. In this webinar, we hope to highlight the trends we are seeing, the tools and technologies that are modernizing the industry, and the perks and benefits of a career in HVACR.”
The E360 Webinar panelists will discuss the following topics:
- Leveraging advanced technologies and modern tools
- Equipping technicians with skills that enable a high earning potential
- Co-op and apprenticeship opportunities to learn the trade while also earning a paycheck
- Learning skills that support our infrastructure and make the world a better place
- Inspiring passion in HVACR professions.
Following the webinar will feature a roundtable discussion with global Emerson stakeholders to share their experiences and strategies for educating, recruiting, and retaining the next generation of HVACR technicians.
