Thirteen New England contracting companies were honored for exceptional work promoting energy efficiency services by the Massachusetts/Rhode Island COOL SMART program.

The awards were presented during the annual golf tournament of the New England Chapter of Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), held in Stow, MA.

Darren Hamilton, of Central Cooling and Heating, Inc., Woburn, MA, accepts the 2013 Cool Smart award from Agnes Hagopian, program manager from Conservation Services Group. Hamilton’s firm has won the energy efficiency award six times.

Key to qualifying for the awards was quality installations of energy efficient systems in 2013.

The awards program was created to recognize contractors in Massachusetts and Rhode Island for outstanding service, and an ongoing commitment to energy efficiency. Since its beginnings in 2004, Cool Smart has promoted the purchase and verified quality installation of Energy Star-qualified central air conditioning systems. The awards are based on leadership, top-notch installation and active program participation.

efficiency. The services provided by all of you not only benefit your customers, but the environment as well,” Stack said.

“We’re proud to work with these contractors who demonstrate top quality work year in and year out for our customers. Congratulations to the winners and we hope to get even greater participation next year, on the 10th anniversary of the Cool Smart program,” said National Grid Residential Program Manager Rebecca Rundle.
