At HVAC Comfortech 2014, 13 products were recognized as Product Showcase Award winners. Judges took into consideration the ease with which HVAC contractors can apply the
technology, and the technical value of the product or service to the HVAC industry. Each month we’ll feature one winner (two in case of a tie) in Contracting Business.com. This month, we’re featuring the Robinair Digital Micron Vacuum Gauge, the winner in the Instrumentation & Diagnostics category.

For more information on any of the products listed here, circle the appropriate number(s) on the reader service card at the back of this issue or visit www.contractingbusiness.com/freeinfo.html.

New from Robinair
Robinair has released one of the most sophisticated digital micron (vacuum) gauges available for field service. Packaged in the same convenient case as Robinair’s successful digital pressure gauges, this stand-alone gauge is compact,  and can be used anywhere. The RAVG-1 employs a sophisticated MEMS Pirani-type sensor that directly measures flow. Sources say that, unlike all other field service gauges on the market, the RAVG-1 is not affected by temperature. The RAVG-1 measures vacuum from Atmosphere to 10 microns in 6 different scales, and can withstand overpressure beyond 30 bar.

The unit employs an industry first multi-color backlight that functions as an instant go/no go indicator of acceptable vacuum or leakage.

Features of this battery-powered device include:
• high Resolution and unique backlight indicator, for easy precision readings.
• a sophisticated MEMS Pirani sensor
• range from Atmosphere down to 10 microns.
