The Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) has announced the selection of Bill Mudge, vice president of sales and marketing at Danfoss Drives, as a recipient of a 2010 Richard C. Schulze Award. The award will be presented to Mudge during AHRI’s 3rd Annual Meeting, Nov. 14-16, in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Mudge, who was selected for the award by AHRI’s Nominating Committee, is being recognized for his years of dedicated service to and expertise in the HVACR industry, particularly as a member of the ARI and AHRI Communications, Education and Training Committees.

Mudge was instrumental in helping to establish the Variable Frequency Drives Product Section, which he now chairs.

“I feel quite honored to have even been nominated for this award, yet alone selected by AHRI as a recipient,” Mudge says. “My years of service to the industry and as an active member of AHRI is an act of dedication and passion—dedication to the education of our industry and passion for the advancement of the increasingly critical technologies we’re developing. At Danfoss, in particular, we’re creating high efficiency products and solutions that are helping to change the landscape and set a new bar for what can be done throughout the industry in terms of energy efficiency. And that’s something to be excited to be a part of.”

The Schulze Award is presented annually to deserving individuals, nominated by AHRI members or staff, for their industry-wide achievements while also pursuing AHRI goals. To be selected, a nominee must have made outstanding contributions in the HVACR industry or have chaired ten standing committees or product section meetings, and be employed within the industry.

Headquartered in Arlington, Va., AHRI is one of the largest trade associations in the United States, representing more than 300 companies that manufacture and sell residential and commercial air-conditioning, heating and commercial refrigeration equipment in North America. The organization is dedicated advancing the HVACR industry, certifying product performance and improving business through career development and technical training.
