GreenHomes America, a leading national provider of home performance contracting services, has signed a franchise agreement with ASI Hastings Heating and Air, San Diego, CA.
ASI Hastings has more than 65 employees. It will adopt GreenHomes America's home performance methods, as it enters a growing residential HVAC service sector, notwithstanding high unemployment in the building/contracting industry.
Brett Knox, president, GreenHomes America, says home performance is growing, in light of the downward trending of the U.S. economy.
"People are staying in their homes longer, environmental concerns are entering the mainstream consciousness, and there are a variety of government, state and local utility homeowner incentives to help pay for the upgrades. We expect this to be a long term trend," Knox says.
Home Performance contractors use home energy audits, with advanced technology such as blower doors, infrared cameras, and computerized modeling to assess a home's unique energy usage footprint and comfort issues. ASI Hastings President Phil Justo anticipates the venture will have a quick start-up and early success.
"GreenHomes has already developed a complete business system. Our customers know ASI Hastings as a company that has long had a focus on energy efficiency. We always recommend the most environmentally friendly and energy-efficient HVAC equipment on the market. HPC will allow us to combine this with a truly comprehensive solution to deliver the best possible performance for any home," Justo says.
