The Board of Directors of the Building Performance Institute, Inc. made two appointments to the board during a meeting in Dallas, TX in February.
Kateri Callahan, president of the Alliance to Save Energy, and Dave Finet, executive director of the Opportunity Council in Northwest Washington state, were installed on the BPI board.
The Alliance to Save Energy is a non-profit organization advocating on behalf of energy efficiency. Callahan oversees the Alliance’s key mission of promoting wprldwide energy efficiency. She leads a staff of more than 50 and oversees an annual budget of $10 million that supports energy-efficiency projects, research, educational programs, policy advocacy, and communications and marketing; promotes technology development and deployment; and builds public- private partnerships.
The Opportunity Council is a private, non-profit Community Action Agency serving homeless and low- income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities.
The BPI Board of Directors also named Larry Zarker as acting chief executive officer of the organization. Zarker has served as director of national development for BPI over the past two years. He brings over twenty-five years of research and technology development experience in the building industry to his new role.
Board member Rick Gerardi of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has moved to an ex-officio status as a non-voting member of the Board. As director of the NYSERDA Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program, Gerardi will focus his efforts on expanding the market for home performance work throughout New York state.
