John G. (Jack) Cappell of Comfort Controls, Beltsville, MD was elected president of the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) at the 2006 NEBB Annual Meeting and Educational Conference held in Palm Springs, CA on November 9-11.
Cappell started his career as a testing, adjusting and balancing (TAB) technician for Comfort Controls in 1982. He has been serving as president of this company since 1989. Cappell obtained NEBB-qualified status in TAB—a discipline which he has over 33 years of experience—in 1989. He also has 12 years of building systems commissioning experience—a discipline Cappell has been NEBB-qualified in since 1993.
Cappell has had a long and extensive involvement in the NEBB organization. He has been a member of the NEBB Board of Directors since 1998 and has served on several NEBB national committees, including the Chapter Affairs and the Executive Finance committees. At the local level, Cappell has served the Capital-Mar-VA NEBB chapter as Technical Committee chairman, member of the Board of Directors, and as president in 1994. He currently serves on the chapter’s Technical Committee and as treasurer.
