John B. Dodge has retired from the Board of Directors at Burnham Corporation. Dodge served for 30 years of service in various Board positions, including Chairman for the past 13 years. He will be appointed Chairman Emeritus and will continue to act in an advisory capacity to the Board. Albert Morrison III has been elected Chairman of the Board in addition to his current responsibilities as president and CEO. Morrison, a graduate of Bucknell University where he earned an engineering degree, joined Burnham in 1973 as director of engineering after working as a project manager for Atlantic Richfield. Morrison became an officer of the Company in 1982 with his promotion to vice president, and in 1986 was elected as a director of the company. He was promoted to executive vice president in 1987, and in 1988 was named to his current position as president and CEO. Burhamn also announced that Donald E. Sweigart has been elected executive vice president and COO. Sweigart, a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy where he earned an engineering degree, joined the Company in 1975 as chief engineer for research and development. In 1987, Sweigart was promoted to vice president/division manager, and in 1991 was named to his current position as senior vice president.
