The Dwyer Group, Waco,TX, a holding company for six home improvement and repair franchise brands, sold a record 235 new franchises in the United States and Canada in 2007. The group reports the total represents an approximate 24% increase over the 190 franchises the company sold in 2006.
The Dwyer Group’s companies include Aire Serv, Glass Doctor, Mr. Appliance, Mr. Electric, Mr. Rooter (Drain Doctor in the UK), and Rainbow International.
“It was another incredible year of accelerated sales growth,” said Mike Bidwell, president of The Dwyer Group. “Customers seeking professional service or repairs for their homes and businesses continued to turn to our brands as the ones to trust. And individuals who wanted to own their own business without reinventing the wheel saw added value in being part of our franchise network to meet that increasing demand.”
A growing percentage of The Dwyer Group’s franchise sales came from conversions, whereby independent owners and operators rolled their existing business into a Dwyer Group franchise brand for the benefits of national name recognition, collective buying power, preferred vendors, peer networking, and marketing and training expertise they did not have on their own.
“The Dwyer Group offers the advantage of 27 years of franchising experience,” Bidwell said. “We let our track record speak for itself and work to exceed expectations every day.”
Bidwell added that additional franchises were sold through master license arrangements with other countries as well.
