In September, York International Corp. celebrated its 130th anniversary and, during HVAC Comfortech 2004 in St. Louis, MO, the York Unitary Products Group (UPG) hosted a birthday party as part of trade show's "Evening Extravaganza" at the St. Louis Museum.
HVAC contractors attending the event heard remarks by UPG President Tom Huntington and Sales and Marketing Vice President Matt Peterson. They also participated in a raffle of an all-new York Affinity air conditioning system, indoor air quality ( IAQ) products and a York Talking Thermostat.
Maurice F. Johnston, owner of MS Johnston Company in Hagerstown, MD, Yorks longest-tenured dealership — at 64 years — cut a birthday cake that celebrated the milestone.
Said Huntington, "York is 130 years old and just getting started. This is a vibrant, dynamic industry, and its a privilege to be a part of it."
"We couldnt have gotten here," noted Peterson, "without the close partnership of our independent distributors and their network of loyal dealers. It's people like the Johnston family, who have been associated continuously with York for nearly half the time our company has been in business."
