For the third consecutive year, Corporate Knights, Inc. and Cleantech Group LLC have named WaterFurnace Renewable Energy, Inc., Fort Wayne, IN, to the Corporate Knights Cleantech 10™ -- a list of the top ten publicly traded cleantech companies in Canada.
The Cleantech 10 list, now in its third year, ranks technology-driven growth companies that significantly impact resource efficiency and the environment. The Cleantech Group applied a set of 18 screening criteria to all companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. A heavy emphasis was placed on purity (percentage of revenues or income from cleantech business) and quality (strategy, management, financial strength and sector leadership). Other key criteria included growth, earnings, liquidity, capitalization, technology/intellectual property and overall impact.
“We're thrilled to again be honored with the Cleantech 10 award,” said Tom Huntington, president and chief executive officer, WaterFurnace International, Inc. Huntington joined CEOs of other Cleantech 10 companies at the Toronto Stock Exchange on Oct. 23, to ring the opening bell. On Oct. 26, the Cleantech 10 was featured in Corporate Knights magazine, the world’s largest circulation magazine with an explicit focus on corporate responsibility.
