S.I. Goldman Company, Inc./Comfort Systems USA, a mechanical contracting company headquartered in Longwood, FL, has consolidated with three Florida mechanical contracting and service companies, also owned by parent company, Comfort Systems USA. Joining forces under Goldman's expanded umbrella are, Comfort Systems USA of Florida, a mechanical services organization with offices in Longwood, Tampa, Fort Myers and Deerfield Beach; Mechanical Service Group, a contracting company in Fort Myers; and Central Mechanical, a mechanical contractor and service company located in Lakeland. All three companies will now operate as divisions of S.I. Goldman Company, Inc./Comfort Systems USA. With these consolidations completed, S.I. Goldman Company, Inc. now has a total support and field staff of 300 operating from six offices in Florida, two in Longwood (near Orlando) and one each in Lakeland, Tampa, Fort Myers and Deerfield Beach. "Through these consolidations, we will realize economies within our entire management team," says John C. Martin, President and Chief Operating Officer of S. I. Goldman Company, Inc./Comfort Systems USA. Martin says he plans to streamline overall operations by centralizing support functions such as Goldman's Safety Bonus and Training Program, field operations, purchasing, accounting, human resources, CAD design, and fabrication. S.I. Goldman Company, Inc., originally founded in Central Florida in 1959 and one of the largest mechanical contracting companies in Florida, merged with publicly traded Comfort Systems USA in 1998. The Goldman team is a full service provider of mechanical contracting, plumbing systems, medical gas systems and facility service for owners, managers, general contractors and construction managers for commercial, industrial and institutional clients. Mechanical Service Group (MSG), established in 1991 in Fort Myers, was acquired by Comfort Systems USA in 1997. Originally founded to provide HVAC service to commercial and industrial clients, MSG launched a new construction division in 1997. Central Mechanical was acquired by Comfort Systems USA in 1998. Current clients include Orange County Correction Facility, Hillsborough County Aviation Authority, Volusia County Public Schools and Orange County Public Schools. Comfort Systems USA is a provider of business solutions addressing workplace comfort, environments and processes and energy services nationally.
