ARLINGTON, VA – The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), has honored Pat Lupson, executive director of the ACCA National Capital Chapter, with the 2004 Spirit of Federation award. Pat Lupson has been the executive director of ACCA National Capital Chapter (ACCA-NCC) for over 23 years and has set an extraordinary example with her hard work and dedication to both the chapter and across the ACCA federation. Her chapter is made up of HVACR contractors from the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. Under Lupson’s direction, ACCA-NCC offers a well-established and respected apprenticeship program, CFC and NATE training and testing, a high caliber of educational offerings, and resourceful monthly meetings. In addition, she runs the day to day operations of ACCA-NCC in the highest professional manner and provides an unprecedented level of service to the contractors she represents. “Pat best exemplifies the Spirit of Federation in her work with other ACCA chapters across the country,” said Michael Honeycutt, ACCA Senior Vice President. “I consider her the Dean of Chapter Executives. Everyone knows they can come to her when they need advice or ideas, and with her team spirit, she is always eager and willing to help.” Lupson was crucial in the overall implementation of ACCA’s Federation, which was officially completed last year after a three-year restructuring program to bring the national organization and its state and local affiliates closer together. She brought up important ideas and issues to consider and assisted other chapters in understanding and implementing the concept of “One ACCA.” Lupson was presented the award on February 25 at the Board of Directors and Chapter Leader’s Luncheon held during ACCA’s 2004 Annual Conference & Indoor Air Expo in New Orleans. The Spirit of Federation award is presented each year to a chapter president or executive who demonstrates outstanding leadership and dedication to the ACCA Federation.
