SMACNA Arizona (the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association) is sponsoring a contest in which the public is asked to guess when Arizona's first 100-degree day will occur in 2006.
The winner will receive a weekend getaway at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale, including two-night’s deluxe suite accommodations, spa package and breakfast daily.
Last year, Monica Lagno of Ahwatukee correctly predicted Sunday, May 15, and was off by only nine minutes.
To enter, visit the SMACNA Arizona website, www.smacna-az.org.
Participants will be required to provide their contact information; along with the date and time that they think the first 100-degree reading will occur at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport . In the event of a tie, a drawing will be held. Participants may enter as often as they choose, but only one entry per web site “hit” will be allowed. The contest will end when the temperature reaches 100 degrees at the Phoenix airport as reported by the National Weather Service.
