• Get it Right the First Time: A 2013 Business Strategy

When planning 2013 business strategy, it’s important to look back at what worked (and didn’t) in 2012

When planning 2013 business strategy, it’s important to look back at what worked (and didn’t) in 2012. Dominique Garval’s article on “How to Modify a Strategy” gives us a pathway to improve strategy from one year to the next. Garval suggests that improving strategy consists of adopting a reverse view of strategy:

    1. Look at the tactics you are using in your company. How successful are they? How did you arrive at these actions? What actions would be more effective?

    2. The above questions lead to an examination of how this year’s strategy was formulated. Why are you on this current path? Has the pathway changed throughout the year?

    3. Examine the strategic analysis behind your game plan. Has the marketplace shifted? Is weather a factor? Are you able to find enough good help?

    4. Remember to check the strategy’s effectiveness through the year for needed modifications.

Discover opportunities for change and keep your strategy at the forefront of critical decisions.
