Bristol Compressors International, Inc., a leading global producer of compressors for use in air conditioning, heat pump and refrigeration systems, has named Vicky Kiser chief financial officer of the company, and John Young vice president of supply chain.
Having served most recently as vice president of finance, Vicky Kiser oversees all financial functions for the company, including cost accounting, general accounting and financial reporting, tax, treasury and information technology. After joining Bristol Compressors in 2007, she served as cost accounting manager, assistant controller and controller, when she shared CFO responsibilities with the former CEO. In her new role, she will continue to work with senior management in achieving strategic goals and objectives.
“Vicky has an outstanding record with our company, and I am pleased to announce her appointment as CFO,” says Ed Gniewek, CEO of Bristol Compressors. “The CFO’s expertise and input will be more important than ever in our focus on growth and product line expansion, and I am grateful for Vicky’s leadership as a member of our management team.”
In addition to her experience at Bristol Compressors, Kiser’s career in financial management and accounting has included responsibilities for supply chain, inventory, shipping and receiving, and human resource functions. Kiser holds a B.S. in management with a concentration in accounting from Emory & Henry College in Emory, Va.
“Bristol Compressors is well positioned for new opportunities,” Kiser says. “I look forward to leading the financial functions of the company as we strengthen and extend our global market share.”
John Young will oversee purchasing, customer service, planning/scheduling, warehouse/logistics and supplier cost productivity. His responsibilities also include the promotion of lean manufacturing, as well as improving execution systems and best practices throughout the company.
“John is a proven leader in his field, and we are fortunate to have him join our team,” says Ed Gniewek, CEO of Bristol Compressors. “I look forward to working with him on key projects at this important time in our company’s history as we continue to focus on customer service, research, product development and growth.”
John Young joins Bristol Compressors with 20 years’ experience in supply chain management. His extensive career has included managing multi-sites at Bose, ACT Manufacturing, Plexus and Trane (a business of Ingersoll-Rand), all of which are well known for their excellence in world-class supply chain management.
He most recently served as senior consultant for Ultriva, Inc., a company specializing in lean supply factory execution software. Prior to working at Ultriva, Young was materials and supply chain leader for Trane in Vidalia, Ga., where his efforts in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma excellence earned him the President’s Award and other industry-wide recognition. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of South Carolina.
“Bristol Compressors is well known in the industry, and I am pleased to work with a world-class producer,” Young says. “Supply chain is an important part of the production process, and I will be concentrating on manufacturing practices, in addition to building on longstanding supplier relationships and forming new ones.”
