Trimble has released its Trimble AutoBid Mechanical 2013 v2 estimating solution for piping and plumbing contractors. It features Trade Service Tra-Ser product and pricing service integration; acquired in May 2013 and part of the Trimble Buildings Group, Trade Service, provides mechanical and plumbing contractors with access to its over 2 million item database for building accurate estimates. This real-time information drastically reduces the need for manual pricing.
The Trimble AutoBid Mechanical release successfully uses the recent acquisition to helps contractors provide more accurate bids by havingaccess to up-to-date product and pricing information.
A full-featured product within Trimble’s MEP estimating portfolio, the Trimble AutoBid Mechanical solution represents decades of specialty trade knowledge cultivated by the former QuickPen brand, now incorporated within Trimble’sMEP Division. Trimble AutoBid Mechanical, a Microsoft Windows based solution, is the ideal estimating package for the mid-to-large sized mechanical estimating contractor due to its robust multi-user capabilities and user-defined automation routines.
“By integrating the Tra-Ser product and pricing service from the newly acquired Trade Service organization we can build on the capabilities of the Trimble AutoBid Mechanical solution that allows our customers to obtain data to more accurately bid a project,” says Pat Bohle, general manager of Trimble's MEP Division. “Combining this new functionality with the ability to import drawings directly from the Trimble PipeDesigner 3D CAD solution, Trimble AutoBid Mechanical helps to eliminate the guesswork associated with the pre-construction process.”
Trimble AutoBid Mechanical is available directly through Trimble’s MEP sales organization. The Tra-Ser integration joins other third-party pricing options already present within the Trimble AutoBid Mechanical estimating solution.
