New officers of the Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA) were introduced at the conclusion of the business session of the 28th Annual Educational Conference in Boca Raton, FL in October. Richard A. Starr was named chairman of the MSCA Board of Managers; Scott Berger was named vice chairman; and James Bartolotta assumes the duties of treasurer.
Richard A. “Dick” Starr, LEED AP, is president and owner of Enterprise HVAC Service & Control in Twinsburg, OH. Prior to acquiring his own business, he worked as president of the systems/service division of a large Northeastern Ohio mechanical contractor. In February, 2008, Starr became Northern Ohio’s first LEED AP, Accredited within the “Existing Building Operations & Maintenance” (EBOM) track. In addition, Enterprise was named Contractor of the Year for 2011 by ContractingBusiness.com magazine and is an MSCA GreenSTAR contractor. Starr also serves on the Board of Directors of the Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MCAA).
Scott Berger is president of Arista Air Conditioning Corp., in Long Island City, NY. Prior to becoming president of the company, he held positions in sales, sales management, and operations. Berger also serves in leadership roles at a number of other industry-related organizations including the Mechanical Contracting Education and Research Foundation and the Mechanical Contracting Association of New York. Arista is an MSCA GreenSTAR contractor.
James Bartolotta is executive vice president of service at Air Comfort Corporation in Broadview, IL. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. He is also one of the founding members of The Unified Group and serves on its local MCA service committee. In addition to his role as MSCA treasurer, Bartolotta is also a member of the association’s Education Committee.
