Viessmann U.S. is celebrating a quarter century of pioneering products with a look ahead to more and greater innovation and growth.
“Over the past 25 years we have developed a solid reputation among contractors and end users in residential, commercial and institutional markets. Remember when we started here in 1990, the defining technology of our times, the Internet, was still obscure," says Dr. Michael Luz, Viessmann U.S. President and CEO. "Yet even then, Viessmann was introducing forward-thinking technologies such as high-efficiency boilers and sophisticated electronic controls. We were at the forefront of bringing condensing boilers to the American market. In 2015, Viessmann is known as a leader for quality, longevity, serviceability, and reliability," Luz says.
The Viessmann Group is one of the leading international manufacturers of heating, industrial and refrigeration systems. Founded in 1917, the family business maintains a staff of approximately 11,500 employees and generates 2.2 billion Euro in annual group turnover. The Viessmann Group operates 22 production divisions in 11 countries, subsidiaries and representations in 74 countries
and 120 sales offices around the world.
Among the innovative products Viessmann introduced in the U.S. over the past 25 years were Vitola Biferral and Atola Renox boilers, an industry first in efficiency and system controls; the highly popular Vitodens residential and Vitocrossal commercial high-efficiency condensing boilers and the introduction of renewable energy systems, which include thermal solar systems and woody biomass boilers that burn wood pellets or wood chips.
Today, Viessmann worldwide is expanding way beyond boilers into highly efficient and renewable energy equipment. “Like our European sister companies, Viessmann U.S. will be evolving,” says Dr. Luz. “We are becoming a pioneering energy equipment manufacturer by introducing sophisticated renewable energy technology in solar thermal, biomass, and other areas, including technology that will convert heat to electricity. In the coming 25 years, Viessmann will take the lead with advanced energy products that will make our company, and our customers, responsible stewards of our shared environment.”
