Feb. 2, 2018
Total funding by all investors is now at $6 billion. Funding will be used to expand market for 'groundbreaking' commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning solutions offering.

PORTLAND, Oregon, January 31, 2018Ventacity Systems, a producer of ventilation equipment and a cloud-based building controls system for small to mid-sized commercial properties, announced a Series B investment by Fujitsu General America, Inc. (FGAI). This new investment from Fujitsu, combined with a successful Series A funding from a set of angel investors that closed earlier in 2017, brings the overall Ventacity equity funding total to over $6 million.

The funding will support sales expansion activities and product development of the recently-introduced Ventacity HVAC2 Smarter Building Platform™, which integrates and networks all HVAC equipment to optimize efficiency, health and comfort for the entire building or a portfolio of buildings. The platform makes buildings more efficient, smarter and healthier, reducing energy usage by 50% to 70% while delivering precise management control for optimal comfort and health. Through auto-detection based commissioning, it delivers fault-proof plug-and-play technology, reducing installation time, complexity and maintenance costs.

“Fujitsu General America, Inc.’s investment in Ventacity Systems is further proof that we share a commitment to bringing new technology and HVAC solutions to market to help make commercial buildings a more efficient, healthier place to work, said Sal D’Auria, founder and CEO, Ventacity. “The investment will enable us to take our vision to the HVAC industry, educating the marketplace on how Ventacity can provide a far more cost-effective, healthier ventilation system coupled with a smart building controls system that is easy to use.”

“As a global leader in variable refrigerant flow systems, and in energy efficiency, we’re always looking for new technology and ideas that can support our customers’ need for smart building solutions and healthier, more efficient ventilation,” said Andy Armstrong, Fujitsu General America, Inc.  VP of sales and marketing. “Ventacity Systems is a great example of a company delivering market-ready technology that aligns with our vision of the smart, energy efficient, commercial building of the future.”

In December 2017, FGAI and Ventacity announced a strategic partnership which delivers a new approach to energy efficient ventilation and HVAC solutions for commercial building projects. The joint solution allows small and mid-sized buildings to achieve improvements in efficiency, comfort and building management by integrating FGAI’s advanced variable refrigerant flow (VRF)-based solution with Ventacity’s innovative approach to energy efficient ventilation. FGAI will begin to distribute an advanced, VRF-based HVAC solution in conjunction with Ventacity products and technology in January 2018.
