Yeah, the '70s were definitely a star-struck decade, thanks to a raft of unforgettable movies:

Godfather, two parts. Rocky (Yo!). American Graffitti (Opie grows up). Chinatown (You won't "forget it"), Taxi Driver (We're talkin' to  you!). Jaws (Turns out they didn't need a bigger boat). Saturday Night Fever. Apocalypse Now (Charlie don't surf!). And of course .... Star Wars ("These aren't the droids you're looking for").

And while moviegoers were cooling off in air conditioned theaters during many a '70s summer, HVACR technicians made certain those theaters stayed cool, and warm in winter.

HVACR advertising in the 1970s wasn't nearly as spectacular as that decades' films. In fact, it's hard to see much difference between ads from the 60s and 70s. Still, there were product innovations worthy of mention, and these advertisers reached a major part of their audience in what was then known as Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Business.

Our remembrance of ContractingBusiness.com's 70th Anniversary continues, with this look at HVACR ads from the decade of bellbottoms and disco.
