Bitzer launched a free refrigerant pressure-temperature application designed for iPhone, BlackBerry and Android devices over 3 years ago. Since then, over a half-million downloads have made it one of the most popular apps for air-conditioning and refrigeration technicians, according to Bitzer.

The application is an intuitive saturated pressure temperature reference wheel that focuses on the most common refrigerants found in air-conditioning and refrigeration systems. Instead of scrolling through many refrigerants rarely used, this app provides users with the ability to customize the app by selecting the refrigerants that they most commonly use and arranging them in any order so each refrigerant table is just a swipe away. Furthermore, this is the only P-T app with the ability to use imperial and metric units at the same time. It also includes altitude adjustment for various elevations and bubble tables for refrigerants with glides. |

Daikin AC

The new app, Daikin eQuip, is designed for both smart phones and tablets, and places information in the hands of Daikin partners, dealers, engineers, architects or anyone interested in the Daikin product quickly and easily for on-the-go needs. This app can be used to:

• Search product information to quickly access and download your most referenced documents.

• Send key information via email or text message (SMS) for immediate sharing.

• Retrieve instant updates for the most up-to-date news and information on Daikin AC.

Additionally, users of the app will be able to instantly search, share and send information via email or text such as technical data, product manuals and documents, marketing flyers and brochures and an intuitive database of spare parts. The app also allows interested parties to locate Daikin 3D Dealers, by city, along with their direct contact information.

Embraco introduces a new mobile application for Android phones and iPhones that helps troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems in the refrigeration system in less time while on the job. By entering the current system problem, the app will provide possible origin scenarios to help pinpoint a solution. The app is for both household and commercial refrigeration systems regardless of the cooling capacity or compressor brand. |

Lennox Commercial

Lennox Industries launches a mobile version of the Lennox Commercial website. This new, user-friendly platform is designed with the customer in mind, and provides quick access to the four most-searched categories: product content, technical documents, Lennox PartsPlus store locator and a commercial contractor locator.

In addition to increased access to product information and technical documentation, customers can easily search for a Lennox PartsPlus store using the store locator. Lennox PartsPlus stores have been rapidly expanding nationwide to meet the growing customer demand for Lennox quality parts and accessories. The mobile site also features a contractor locator for customers searching for commercial contractors in their area. Both the Lennox PartsPlus and contractor locators use the phone’s GPS capabilities to locate the nearest stores or contractors and feature click-to-call functionality for direct contact. |

Nordyne has partnered with Add2Cart to bring HVAC contractors a proven in-home sales app. The new ComfortConsultant iPad app adds transparency to the sales process for a more engaged homeowner, a higher sales ticket and increased closing ratios, Nordyne sources say.

With ComfortConsultant, homeowners use the app to answer questions about what they desire out of their new HVAC system. The app then recommends a system based on their input, but lets the homeowners “slide” their selections up or down to see what a more- or less-efficient system does to their bottom line. Pricing is displayed upfront, and contractors can choose to show the financed price or a flat price along with all of the rebates the system may qualify for.

ComfortConsultant comes pre-loaded with equipment, but contractors can choose which units and IAQ products to display. Six different branded versions of the app are available: Maytag, Broan, Frigidaire, NuTone, Tappan and Westinghouse. |
