Representative Steve Chabot Visits Johnstone Supply of Cincinnati

Oct. 1, 2014

During the August Congressional recess, Heating, Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) distributor member Johnstone Supply of Cincinnati, Ohio, recently hosted Congressman Steve Chabot (R-OH) to see firsthand the contribution of HVACR distributors upon the local and national economy. During the site visit, Chabot was able to meet with employees, tour the facility and discuss policy issues that are having an impact upon Johnstone Supply and the distribution community.

Greg Grimme, owner of Johnstone Supply stated, “Everyday our business is impacted by decisions made in Washington and we greatly appreciate Congressman Chabot taking the time to learn about our company, what we do and how those decisions impact our business.”

Grimme noted that among the issues discussed during the visit were the impact of regulations upon their business, the need for tort reform and the challenges that the estate tax place upon their multi-generational business.

“We are fortunate to have Congressman Chabot representing our business and our customers in Washington,” said Grimme. “He understands the issues and lets us know, in a straight forward manner, what his position is.”

Congressman Chabot stated, “I always appreciate the opportunity to visit local businesses and see firsthand the great work being done in our community. It was extremely beneficial to be able discuss with Johnstone Supply’s management and employees the issues they face every day and how Congress can enact policies that will help businesses like them grow and thrive.”

HARDI executive vice-president and COO, Talbot Gee, who attended Congressman Chabot’s visit, said that hosting elected officials is an increasingly important and effective tool for distributors to make sure their issues are heard.

“When people like the Grimmes make the effort to host a member of Congress and talk about the issues that matter, it’s a great benefit to the entire HVACR distribution industry,” said Gee. “Having that member of Congress be someone as respected by the small business community as Steve Chabot makes it even better.” Visit for additional information.
