UPDATE: Construction & Coronavirus

Boston stops all construction. Pennsylvania ODOT projects halted. For rest of country it's business as usual . . . for now.

MARCH 16,  2020 — The Boston Globe reported that Mayor Martin J. Walsh issued an order to halt to more than 100 construction projects in the city, due to the coronavirus concerns related to worker safety, and to hopefully stop the spread of coronavirus. 

“Our primary objective right now is slowing the spread and flattening the curve so that our medical centers don’t get overwhelmed,” Walsh said.

KDKA 2 CBS TV Pittsburgh reported PennDOT road construction projects have been halted by an order from Gov. Tom Wolf, and all PennDOT rest areas and welcome centers have been closed. STORY HERE

The Good News
For now, construction continues in other areas hit hard by coronavirus. CONSTRUCTIONDIVE reported yesterday that local builders associations in those areas are staying alert for any stoppage announcements, and moving forward with a "business as usual" attitude.
