LUFKIN, Texas  Lemon Seed Marketing, a leading branding and marketing agency for the home service industry, aims to take one deserving home service company to the next level with the launch of The Great American Brand Story, presented by Service Nation and other supporting sponsors.

More than a simple giveaway, Lemon Seed Marketing designed The Great American Brand Story to shine a spotlight on the hardworking businesses that keep our country running and help transform one winning applicant into the business of its owner's dreams.

"At Lemon Seed, we have small business and the home service industry itself in our blood," said Crystal Williams, founder and lead strategist at Lemon Seed Marketing. "We know firsthand how hard contractors work every day; however, despite their best efforts, sometimes even the most proficient contractors can find their growth limited by bad branding or a poor public reception. We created The Great American Brand Story to celebrate these professionals and help one of our own reach the next level."

The call for applications is open now through May 31, and the winner will be decided by June 30. The winning business will receive a prize package of services totaling more than $150,000, and after the rebranding process is completed, their new brand will be revealed on stage at Service World Expo 2025 in Las Vegas on Oct. 28.

"In everything we do, the mission of helping contractors reach their potential is front and center," said Nicole Norris, strategic partnership manager at Service Nation. "Now, we're able to join forces with Lemon Seed marketing and all-star roster of likeminded organizations, many being preferred vendors in the Service Nation family, to change one home service business forever."

Prizes received by the winning home service company and provided by participating sponsors include:

  • Full rebrand by Lemon Seed Marketing, complete with a custom brand story and all assets;
  • A new website designed by Online Access;
  • Digital data analysis performed by SearchLight;
  • A direct mail drop from Mail Shark;
  • Signage and wall wraps provided by Real Graphics;
  • Service Nation membership and coaching;
  • Call Center Resources donated by Pink Callers;
  • Branded "thank you" gifts from To Your Success;
  • All new promotional products from Criscione Bros.; and
  • A 5-week PR campaign announcing the new brand with Ripley PR.

"We haven't seen a campaign quite like this before, and we're so excited to kick this off," said Emily Fleniken, creative director and partner at Lemon Seed Marketing. The Great American Brand Story is open to privately owned HVAC, plumbing and/or electrical companies with an annual revenue between $1 and $5 million. Those applying for the contest must do so with an open mind and, if chosen as the winner, be willing to trust the process and commit to fully embracing the new brand as they grow their business.

"We know that, sometimes, strategically changing up a business a bit can in turn change the lives of all involved," Williams said. "That's our mission with The Great American Brand Story.
