ORLANDO, Florida — Del-Air Plumbing, Air Conditioning & Electric is stepping up as the first presenting sponsor of The JOY FM’s T-Shirts for Turkeys food drive, now in its 21st year. The annual campaign helps provide Thanksgiving meals for families in need across Florida.

For HVACR contractors, this move highlights how service companies can leverage their resources and community ties to make an impact beyond the jobsite. As the industry continues to face workforce challenges, contractors are increasingly recognizing that visible community engagement helps build stronger customer relationships and attract employees who value purpose-driven work.

“Del-Air has long believed that our responsibility extends far beyond providing comfort inside our customers’ homes,” said Rob Haines, marketing director for Del-Air. “We are an integrated part of every community we serve, and we want to help ensure that families who may be struggling don’t have to go without their Thanksgiving comfort food.”

This year’s donation drive runs Nov. 10–13, with designated “Turkey Stops” set up at Chick-fil-A restaurants, food banks, thrift stores and churches in Jacksonville, Orlando, the Treasure Coast, Tampa Bay and Sarasota. Donors can give a frozen turkey or contribute $15 in cash or gift cards. In return, they’ll receive a commemorative JOY FM T-shirt. Food and funds are distributed through local food banks.

As the presenting sponsor, Del-Air is making a generous lump-sum donation to support the cause and is actively encouraging all its employees to contribute as well. Beyond financial support, the company is also fostering community involvement by having Del-Air employees volunteer their time to help staff at the donation booths throughout the state.

Haines added, “Our team members don’t just work here, they are neighbors, friends and engaged in all the local communities and organizations Del-Air serves. That’s why giving back is so important to us.”

For HVACR contractors, the message is clear: community partnerships not only meet urgent needs but also demonstrate leadership and commitment to the people they serve—an increasingly important factor in brand trust and long-term growth.
