SUWANEE, Georgia — Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC has introduced the Comfort app by Mitsubishi Electric, a new smart heating and cooling control platform designed for residential HVAC systems.

According to the company, the Comfort app replaces kumo cloud and is compatible with existing Mitsubishi Electric HVAC solutions as well as new systems equipped with built-in Wi-Fi. The platform was developed with both homeowners and HVAC contractors in mind, focusing on ease of use, connectivity, and performance optimization.

The app includes intuitive programming options such as seasonal scheduling, allowing users to create separate summer and winter schedules and switch between them as conditions change. Mitsubishi Electric said this feature was developed based on direct user feedback.

For contractors, the Comfort app is designed to streamline on-site setup by simplifying system connections to Wi-Fi. In homes with multi-zone installations, multiple indoor units can be connected at the same time, reducing setup time during installation.

The Comfort app also introduces Comfort Connect, a feature that links homeowners with their preferred HVAC contractor. When a contractor sets up the app, the connection allows homeowners to initiate service requests and communicate more easily with their service provider.

“Being on the frontlines with homeowners and contractors gave us invaluable insight into what they wanted in the app and what customers appreciate in next-generation smart controls,” said Charles Miltiades, senior director of controls, experience, and integration at Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC. He added that future updates will integrate additional behavioral and environmental data to further optimize system performance.
