Schaumburg, Illinois — RETA-RSES announced that Lori Schiavo has been appointed as the new associate executive director. As RETA-RSES continues to unify its efforts to serve its HVACR membership and the HVACR industry in general, Schiavo will be working closely with the executive director, Vern Sanderson, to ensure the executive director, staff, and elected leadership have the support needed to continue to be successful.
Schiavo was formerly director of operations for RETA-RSES and has worked with RSES for more 19 years in a variety of roles, including executive vice president and publisher/editor of its flagship publication RSES Journal. She currently oversees functions for the Education, Testing, Marketing, Publishing and Certification departments in Schaumburg, which now bridges to the Albany office, and works with several RETA-RSES Committees. In addition, she serves as an HVACR industry liaison for several state and federal training programs, trade shows, and sister Association shows.
“Our organization is blessed to have expert staff. Naming Lori Schiavo as the associate executive director is a natural progression in the growth of the organization,” said Sanderson. “Her long-term leadership to RSES, intricate knowledge of the industry, and her deep insight into the human condition make her ideally suited to the role.”
Since joining RSES in 2007, she has seen the Association evolve in many ways. “Helping to
reunite RSES and RETA has been one of the most meaningful moments of my career. What began as early conversations in 2018 has grown into a unified, global HVACR Association,” said Schiavo. “I’m proud to support Vern Sanderson and our dedicated staff and well-versed Board and Committee volunteers as we enter this next chapter focused on serving our Members while advancing the industry worldwide…together.”
