SACRAMENTO, California — Smart thermostats used in commercial HVAC systems are now eligible for utility incentives through Duke Energy’s Smart $aver Program, according to Airzone Control.
Airzone Control announced that its Blueface smart thermostats qualify for rebates of up to $75 per device for commercial HVAC control upgrades. The program applies to projects serving Duke Energy customers across North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Indiana.
The eligibility creates a new pathway for HVAC distributors and contractors to access incentives tied to energy-efficient system upgrades. According to Duke Energy, the Smart $aver Program is designed to support businesses that install equipment that improves energy performance in commercial buildings.
The rebates apply to HVAC systems using Inverter-driven technologies, including variable refrigerant flow, heat pumps, and mini-split systems. Projects that integrate advanced control solutions can qualify for incentives when upgrading system performance.
Airzone’s Blueface thermostat functions as the control interface for its HVAC solutions, enabling centralized scheduling, remote monitoring, and automated system adjustments. The platform supports zoning and system management across multiple applications, including individual air handling units and multi-room configurations.
According to Airzone Control, many commercial buildings have already installed high-efficiency HVAC equipment but lack advanced controls needed to optimize performance. The company said the rebate eligibility helps reduce the cost barrier for adding intelligent controls that improve system efficiency and energy management.
The Smart $aver Program is intended to help building owners manage energy costs while modernizing HVAC infrastructure. For contractors and distributors, the incentive program provides an opportunity to deliver efficiency-focused upgrades while improving project economics for commercial customers.
