ATLANTARheem partnered with Habitat for Humanity International and Atlanta Habitat to support the 2026 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project by providing heating, cooling, and water heating systems for 24 affordable homes in Atlanta.

The project brought together sponsors and more than 1,000 volunteers to construct homes in the Sylvan Hills neighborhood in southwest Atlanta. Rheem employees participated throughout the May 3-8 build week, assisting with construction, landscaping, and painting activities.

Rheem equipped the homes with Rheem Endeavor Line heating and cooling systems and Rheem Gladiator electric water heaters. The HVAC systems will also use ecobee Smart Thermostat Lite controls to help homeowners manage energy use and utility costs.

According to Rheem, the project marks part of the company’s broader community support efforts through its Heart of Comfort philanthropic program.

“Home ownership is powerful and Rheem is grateful to play a small role in supporting 24 new homeowners here in Atlanta,” said Alex Housten, COO at Rheem.

The project also launched construction for Langston Park, a planned Atlanta Habitat community that introduces townhome-style housing to the affiliate’s portfolio for the first time.

“Partnerships with organizations like Rheem help us expand our impact so we can empower more families to achieve their dream of homeownership,” said Rosalyn Merrick, president and CEO of Atlanta Habitat.

The 2026 Carter Work Project coincides with the 50th anniversary of Habitat for Humanity International and its “Let’s Open the Door” campaign focused on expanding housing access.
