EVAPCO Celebrates 50 Years Serving Refrigeration, Data Center, and Power Markets
TANEYTOWN, Maryland — EVAPCO, Inc. is marking its 50th anniversary, highlighting five decades of growth in evaporative cooling and heat transfer technology.
Founded in 1976 by Wilson E. Bradley and William E. Kahlert, the company began as a refrigeration-focused business in Baltimore, Maryland, with five employees and a single evaporative condenser product line.
According to EVAPCO, early demand for evaporative condensers led the company to expand its offerings beyond refrigeration applications.
Today, the company manufactures factory-assembled and field-erected cooling towers, closed-circuit coolers, evaporative condensers, air-cooled systems, water treatment technologies, and equipment used in power plants and data centers.
EVAPCO now operates 34 global locations in 14 countries, including 28 manufacturing facilities across 11 countries.
The company also emphasized its focus on research, testing, and product development. EVAPCO currently holds more than 500 active patents worldwide and said its systems undergo performance testing designed to improve efficiency, reliability, and long-term operation.
The company stated that its sustainability efforts focus on improving system efficiency, reducing resource consumption, and supporting environmentally responsible cooling technologies.
“EVAPCO’s success over the past 50 years is rooted in our commitment to quality, innovation, and the long-term relationships we’ve built with our customers and sales partners,” said Jamie Facius, marketing vice president of EVAPCO, Inc. “As we look to the future, we’re investing in technologies and services that help our customers meet demanding efficiency, sustainability, and reliability goals.”
EVAPCO said its employee-owned structure and long-term customer relationships have supported the company’s expansion from a small refrigeration manufacturer into a global supplier of heat transfer equipment serving commercial, industrial, and infrastructure markets.
