ENGLEWOOD, Colorado — Women in HVACR (WHVACR) raised more than $18,000 to support workforce development initiatives during its Step Into Your Power regional meeting held in Houston in May.

The event attracted more than 80 professionals from across the HVACR industry for networking, leadership development, and peer collaboration activities designed to support women working in the trades.

During the event, Women in HVACR unveiled a new logo. According to the organization, the updated branding reflects its focus on recognizing individual strengths while fostering mentorship, professional connections, and career opportunities throughout the HVACR industry.

Attendees participated in leadership circles, vision-boarding exercises, and group discussions centered on professional growth and building industry relationships.

"Our Houston regional meeting showcased the incredible strength, talent and momentum of women throughout the HVACR industry," said Jane Sidebottom, president of Women in HVACR. "The event gave attendees a chance to step back, think about their goals, share their experiences and learn from one another while celebrating an exciting milestone for our organization with the reveal of our new logo."

Funds raised during the event will support the organization's ongoing mission to empower women in the HVACR workforce. Sponsors included Hunton Distribution, Daikin Industries, Pipefitters Local 211, and The Sauermann Group.

The meeting featured keynote speaker Angela Gargano, who discussed resilience, confidence, and personal growth. Attendees also heard from Tanya Gaitz, owner of Gaitz HVACR, and Connie Schroder, director of residential product marketing at Daikin Comfort Technologies, who shared perspectives on career development and the evolving opportunities and challenges facing women in the trades.

A partnership with The Ink Factory added a visual component to the event, with presentations and discussions captured through live visual note-taking designed to highlight key takeaways and discussion themes.

The event concluded with a drawing for a complimentary registration to the 2026 Women in HVACR Annual Conference, Built for Speed, scheduled for Sept. 27-29 at the JW Marriott Indianapolis.
