AHRI: July HVAC Shipments Rebound With Strong AC Growth
Warm Air Furnaces
U.S. shipments of gas warm air furnaces for July 2026 increased +2.1%, to 265,810 units, compared to 260,224 units shipped in July 2025. Oil warm air furnace shipments increased +36.6%, to 2,681 units in July 2026, compared to 1,963 units shipped in July 2025.
Year-to-date U.S. shipments of gas warm air furnaces decreased -5.1%, to 1,818,744 units, compared to 1,915,641 units shipped during the same period in 2025. Year-to-date U.S. shipments of oil warm air furnaces increased +13.9%, to 17,641 units, compared to 15,490 units shipped during the same period in 2025.
Central Air Conditioners and Air-Source Heat Pumps
U.S. shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps totaled 916,830 units in July 2026, increased +20.1% compared to 763,443 units shipped in July 2025. U.S. shipments of air conditioners increased +22.3%, to 503,151 units, compared to 411,530 units shipped in July 2025. U.S. shipments of air-source heat pumps increased +17.6%, to 413,679 units, compared to 351,913 shipped in July 2025.
Year-to-date combined shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps increased +5.5%, to 5,633,518, compared to 5,340,584 units shipped during the same period in 2025. Year-to-date shipments of central air conditioners increased +5.2%, to 3,063,290 units, compared to 2,911,784 units shipped during the same period in 2025. The year-to-date total for heat pump shipments increased +5.8%, to 2,570,228, compared to 2,428,800 units shipped during the same period in 2025.
