PHCC Foundation Accepting Scholarship Applications

Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors National Association reports that it is now accepting applications for scholarships to be awarded in late July.

The Foundation's Scholarship program was built to help cover the training costs for apprentices working for PHCC contractors and students pursuing industry-related college studies. 

The PHCC 2020 scholarship program is now accepting applications. Sources say $117,000 is up for grabs through 57 scholarships. A new Patty Jones Memorial Scholarship has been added this year, established by her husband, past Foundation Chairman Bill Jones.

 Who is Eligible to Apply?

  • Plumbing or HVAC apprentices who are working full time for a PHCC contractor member.
  • Trade school or community college students taking plumbing or HVAC classes.
  • College students pursuing majors directly related to the plumbing-heating-cooling industry.
  • A maximum of four apprentices per company can win, so only have your top contenders apply.

How Does Someone Apply?

  • Visit phccfoundation.org/scholarships
  • Gather required submission materials (letters of recommendation and background info).
  • Complete the online application form, uploading the required documents.

When is the Deadline and When Are Winners Selected?

  • Applications and all required supporting materials are due by May 1st.
  • The Foundation Scholarship committee reviews applications over the summer. Winners are notified in late July and award checks are mailed directly to schools in August.

The scholarships are made possible with support from contractor contributions and A.O. Smith, Bradford White, Delta Faucet Company, RIDGID, State Water Heaters, the PHCC Past National Officers, PHCC of Massachusetts Auxiliary, PHCC of Texas Auxiliary, the McGlame-Wordell Scholarship Committee, Gerry Kennedy, Bill Jones, Steve and Isabella Schaefer and Anne Williams.
