Airsled Load-Moving Technology Helps Contractors Move Heavy Equipment
Airsled provides a safe, efficient, and effective way to move countless objects, especially residential and commercial appliances, in virtually any setting without damaging floors, pulling back muscles, or needing extra manpower.
Airsled uses a micro-thin cushion of air under the load to then move it almost effortlessly. With Airsled, a heavy load can be moved by a force equal to just 1% of its weight. To put this in perspective and practical terms, OSHA recommends that a person should not exert more than 225 Newtons of force when pushing an object using only their full body strength from a free-standing start. 225 Newtons translates to 50 lbs of force. Therefore, using an Airsled product under optimal conditions, an individual will be able to safely move 5,000 lbs (1% of 5,000 lbs = 50 lbs) and be completely within OSHA guidelines for exerting push force.
Airsled advantages and benefits include:
- Airsled can reduce manpower requirements and associated resource costs to move heavy loads;
- Reduce physical stress and strain that may cause employee injury;
- Airsled systems prevent potentially costly damage to floors;
- Glide right into and through tight spaces safely and confidently;
- Can fit under most loads (standard systems are only 1/8″ or 3/16″ thick); and
- Airsled solutions are light-weight, highly portable with very quick setup.
