Klein Tools introduces the VDV distance meter for pair-conductor cables. The VDV measures cable length and locates faults, in addition to simplifying inventory, estimates, and billing. With an entry-level price point, the VDV distance meter lets tradespeople test and measure cable with confidence and ease. It measures voice, data, video, doorbell, siamese, lamp-wire and NM cables up to 1,500 ft. It has six pre-programmed nominal
cable length constants for RG59, RG6, and RG11 coaxial, as well as Cat3, Cat5e and Cat6 twisted pair. The VDV distance meter lets the user adjust the capacitance/foot constant based on the cable being tested. This tester also ensures compliance and identifies cable runs outside specification. The fault finder feature determines if a cable run is broken or damaged. Klein Tools sources say the VDV distance meter saves time and increases efficiencies by measuring cable remaining in a box or on a reel as well as facilitating estimates and billing jobs correctly.Rosenberg USA, Indian Trail, NC, has released the ECOFIT brand, backward-curved impellers with electronically commutated motors (ECMs). The impellers deliver low-noise and highly-efficient air cooling, in an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), variable frequency drive (VFD), and other rectifier or inverter applications. New ECM models are available in addition to standard AC models. Company sources report these fans are ideal for air conditioning,
supplemental cooling, rack, or in-row equipment cooling. They feature a rated life expectancy of L10 with a minimum 50,000 hours of operation at air temperatures up to 158F. IP44 protection is standard. The ECOFIT backward curved line includes fans with diameters of 180 mm (7.09 in.), 192 mm (7.56 in.), 220 mm (8.7 in.), 225 mm (8.9 in.), 250 mm (9.8 in.), 280 mm (11 in.), and 315 mm (12.4 in.) offering maximum airflow of more than 1,200 CFM. The innovative blade design ensures that noise is reduced to a minimum. Their compact design and wide range of sizes make the fans a perfect fit in a broad variety of equipment.FasTest’snew Refrigeration Quick Disconnect (RQD) takes the pressure out of connecting to refrigerant lines for charging or evacuating cooling appliances and applications. The RQD’s
unique lever action minimizes the effort necessary for connecting to refrigerant lines under high pressure while adding the lever mechanical advantage to the valve opening. This simple two-step connection process reduces worker fatigue and increases manufacturing productivity. The RQD is designed for new higher-pressure refrigerants. FasTest is based in Roseville, MN.
