CoolSys CEO Adam Coffey Recognized by OC Business Journal

BREA, Calif. – The Orange County Business Journal has recognized Adam Coffey, CEO of CoolSys™, a parent of market-leading refrigeration, HVAC, engineering, and energy services companies nationwide, in its OC 50 Special Report for the second consecutive year. The special report features the most influential business leaders and individuals in Orange County, Calif. who are shaping the future of region and its economy.

With annual sales approaching $750 million, CoolSys has continued on its rapid growth trajectory under Coffey’s leadership. In the past year, CoolSys continued its “buy and build” strategy with a series of acquisitions, continuing to expand the company’s nationwide footprint and capabilities. During the pandemic, the company
pivoted to support the changing needs of its customers, many of which are mission-critical organizations and front-line grocery and retail businesses. It also prioritized the needs of its employees by creating the CoolSys Cares Employee Relief Fund to help any employee experiencing a financial hardship due to natural disaster or a specific unforeseen, personal hardship. 

CoolSys shared that throughout his career, Coffey has successfully built employee-centered cultures and managed companies within fast-growth industries and environments. Over the last two decades, he has been president and CEO of three leading national service companies. Based on his experience and business acumen, he wrote and published “The Private Equity Playbook,” which has been ranked No. 1 in numerous business book categories on Amazon.com. Coffey is a former GE executive, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Executive Program in Management as well as GE’s John F. Welch Leadership Academy. 

CoolSys General Counsel and Executive Vice President Burton Hong was also recently recognized by the Orange County Business Journal for his accomplishments in the OC 500 Special Report published in May.
