The Price Chopper Supermarket in Warwick, NY, has earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) GreenChill Silver certification award, for streamlining and/or reducing its use of refrigerants. The Schenectady, NY-based grocery chain is a longtime participant in the voluntary program.
"As part of our overall environmental strategy, we've made a commitment to reduce refrigerant emissions that in turn reduce greenhouse gases," says Bill Sweet, Price Chopper vice president of engineering and construction.
"The Silver certification for the Warwick store is an acknowledgement of the fine work and environmental mindset of associates throughout our company," Sweet says.
Price Chopper will be among the participants at the Contracting Business Refrigeration Roundtable, to be held during HVACR Week, Sept. 22-24, in Baltimore, MD.
