Tony Kanaan won his and Bryant Heating & Cooling Systems’ first-ever victory at the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race since Bryant began its participation in auto racing in 1958. Bryant-sponsored Kanaan led a total of 34 laps on the way to his first victory in 12 appearances in the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”

Bryant is the longest-standing non-automotive sponsor at the Indianapolis 500. Legends such as Eddie Sachs, Rodger Ward, Cale Yarborough, Scott Brayton, Chip Ganassi, Stan Fox, and Janet Guthrie have all run under the Bryant Racing banner, earning a total of 16 previous race victories on other tracks.

Bryant has worked with Kanaan for six of the last seven IndyCar Series seasons, and in that time, the Brazilian driver has earned eight victories including his Indy 500 win.

“This is the biggest wins of my career,” said Kanaan after the race. “I knew at the beginning of the race that we had a great car, I knew that from the get-go. We had a great plan and it was just one of those days. Everything was so smooth. This place has always been special to me, so to finally earn a win here is just unbelievable.”

“Bryant has been a part of the Indianapolis 500 for a long time, and we couldn’t be more pleased with Sunday’s result,” said Chris Nelson, president, residential and commercial systems for Bryant.

“Tony had a fantastic race, and much like Bryant’s “Whatever It Takes” philosophy, he ran strong all day and put himself in the right position on the final laps to take the win. We’re proud of him and we look forward to going for two in a row next season. The Indianapolis 500 provides a unique setting for us to recognize our Bryant dealers. The entire weekend is a way to celebrate them and this year, Tony gave us the ultimate icing on the cake,” Nelson said.
