AHRI, Other Groups Attend Education Summit

In July, Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) Vice President for Government Affairs Cade Clark and Director of Education Warren Lupson attended theNational Coalition of Certification Centers’ (NC3) leadership summit on education and the industry.

AHRI was one of more than 125 education, government, and business leaders from across the U.S. who attended the event at Gateway Technical College in Kenosha, WI.

AHRI member company representatives and industry leaders also attended the summit, including Keith Coursin, past AHRI chairman and president of Desert Aire Corp.; William Mudge, chair of AHRI’s Education and Training Committee and vice president of Danfoss Drives Division; Patrick Archambault, strategic program leader at Trane/Ingersoll Rand; Don Frendberg, executive director of the HVACR Workforce Development Foundation; and Dr. Gerald Kennedy, executive vice president of the Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors Association and president of the Partnership of Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Accreditation (PAHRA).

Lupson, Frendberg, and Archambault presented on the benefits of industry-driven credentials, education, alliances, and accreditation. Lupson — who is also the Vice President and Secretary of PAHRA — and Kennedy presented Gateway Technical College with a PAHRA accreditation. PAHRA also signed a memorandum of understanding with NC3 to promote the HVACR industry, along with its stackable credentials, accreditation, and career opportunities.
