Sponsored by the Massachusetts/Rhode Island COOL SMART program, these awards honor contractors for energy efficiency practices, leadership and quality installation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. The annual golf event, held in Stow, MA attracts approximately 150 participants throughout the region.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, COOL SMART is a high efficiency central air conditioning and heat pump program for residential customers of National Grid, NSTAR Electric, Unitil, Western Massachusetts Electric Company and Cape Light Compact. This initiative promotes the purchase and verified quality installation of ENERGY STAR-qualified central air conditioning and heat pump systems.

Agnes Hagopian, of Conservation Services Group (CSG), is the program manager for COOL SMART.  “Since its inception in 2004, the program has grown exponentially. Our dedicated contractors have installed more than 50,000 energy efficient systems in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.  The golf tournament has proved to be a great venue for celebrating accomplishments and we thank our many sponsors, the ACCA and the Stow Country Club," Hagopian says.
