Daikin Texas Technology Park got a visit from U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul recently, who toured the campus near northwest Houston and visited with some of the more than 3,000 people working there.

McCaul, who represents Texas’ 10th District, met with Takeshi Ebisu, CEO and president of Goodman Global, a member of Daikin Industries. Goodman has been manufacturing Goodman brand heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in Houston for 42 years.

Daikin Texas Technology Park represents great growth for Texas and for manufacturing in the United States, McCaul said. Goodman, Amana brand and Daikin North America HVAC systems and products are now being produced at the 4.1 million operational sq. ft. at Daikin Texas Technology Park — the size of about 74 football fields. Up to 5,000 people are expected to be employed at the facility when fully operational.

McCaul visited with management and employees to get a better understanding of American manufacturing capabilities and the products being produced at the campus, according to Rex Anderson, director of communications for Goodman. McCaul also took time to hold a town hall and a question-and-answer session with some Daikin employees who live in his district.
