Electric & Gas Industries Association (EGIA) and Heating, Air Conditioning Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) are conducting a survey to gather feedback on the key factors that affect contractor and customer participation in the Inflation Reduction Act, as well as how these programs can assist contractors in creating increased investment in new technology.
The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) is a federal law that provides funding to states to support residential energy efficiency improvements. With $8.8 billion in funding, the IRA aims to incentivize homeowners to make energy-efficient upgrades to their homes, such as installing solar panels, upgrading insulation, and replacing old heating and cooling systems. This emphasis on energy efficiency and electrification presents an opportunity for contractors in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry.
There will be a greater need for HVAC contractors to install and maintain energy efficient home systems.
EGIA and HARDI realize how important it is for HVAC organizations to understand how the IRA will affect their businesses. With the increased demand for energy-efficient upgrades, there will be a greater need for HVAC contractors to install and maintain energy efficient home systems. Additionally, the IRA’s focus on electrification may require contractors to adapt and learn new skills in order to meet the changing demands of the market.
