Richardson, Tex. November 1, 2018 – As part of its "Feel The Love" program, Lennox Industries along with 150 Lennox dealers, completed the installation of 163 furnaces at no cost for families in need in 35 markets across 19 states and five Canadian provinces on Saturday, Oct. 6.
The Lennox "Feel The Love" program, launched as “Heat UP" in 2009, engages the company’s dealers and employees to partner with their communities to nominate and serve deserving families in need of a helping hand in the form of a warmer home prior to the start of the cold winter season.
Nominees were chosen based on a variety of criteria, including some type of hardship or challenge, and typically include families with military service or involvement in their community. Lennox and its dealers enthusiastically stepped in to lend a helping hand, and some dealer teams went above and beyond their area of expertise to mow lawns, provide refreshments, and even repair homes, in addition to the furnace installations. Carol Supeh, Omaha, Neb.— Carol was nominated by her children, who said that she’s someone who has always looked out for others before herself. Carol has had a difficult year that has included supporting her husband, who is afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease, battling her own health issues, and managing financial responsibilities on a fixed income. The new furnace from Lennox gives her one less thing to worry about as winter weather nears.
Laverne Ramey, Fieldale, Va. — Laverne was nominated by her children, who said that their mother deserved to receive the new furnace because she is selfless and goes above and beyond to help others – such as when she recently opened her home to local church members after the church burned down. Before "Feel The Love," Laverne was facing a long, cold winter with a furnace that no longer worked and was too costly to repair.
Jennifer Drinkard, Fulton, Mo.— Jennifer was nominated by her mother, who said that she was proud of her for all she does for her community and everyone around her, including to help raise funds for others in need. The furnace in her home was old, and had been in a number of floods. The furnace had failed to keep the home warm during the latest winter. Over time, Jennifer was becoming sick due to the poor air quality in her home. "Feel The Love" has both literally and figuratively brought Jennifer a great deal of comfort.
