CO2 Refrigerant Showcase Debuts at Natural Refrigerant Training Summit
Key Highlights
- The summit aims to educate end users and decision-makers on emerging refrigeration technologies amid evolving regulatory landscapes.
- The event will highlight CO2 remote condensing units designed for small-format applications like convenience stores and gas stations.
- Attendees can review equipment and hear directly from manufacturers such as Carrier, Heatcraft, and Hussmann about real-world applications.
IRWINDALE, California — The North American Sustainable Refrigeration Council (NASRC) will introduce the industry’s first showcase focused exclusively on carbon dioxide (CO2) remote condensing units (RCUs) at the upcoming Natural Refrigerant Training Summit.
The two-day event, scheduled for April 21–22 in Irwindale, California, will highlight CO2 RCU technology designed for smaller-format applications, including convenience stores, restaurants, gas stations, and corner markets, as well as supplemental refrigeration loads in supermarkets.
The showcase comes as contractors and equipment owners face tightening refrigerant regulations, particularly in California, where compliance requirements are accelerating the transition away from traditional refrigerants. According to NASRC, CO2 RCUs are gaining traction as a practical alternative, offering a pathway to meet regulatory requirements while maintaining system performance and efficiency.
The free event is structured to provide high-level, accessible insights for end users and decision-makers evaluating emerging refrigeration technologies. Attendees will have the opportunity to review equipment and hear directly from manufacturers and industry experts about real-world applications and implementation considerations.
Participating manufacturers include AHT, Carrier Commercial Refrigeration, Heatcraft, Hussmann, Kysor Warren, Rivacold, SCM Frigo, Zero Zone, RefPlus, and Carel.
Event hours are scheduled for April 21 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and April 22 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. To register, visit: events.nasrc.org
