Key Highlights

  • The Toolbox app consolidates installation tasks, manuals, and documentation into a single mobile platform for HVAC technicians.
  • Key features include workflow management, sensor addition, refrigerant calculation, troubleshooting guides, and homeowner handoff documentation.
  • Access is exclusive to Quilt Certified Partners, with plans to add remote diagnostics and proactive issue detection in 2026.

REDWOOD CITY, California — Quilt has launched Toolbox, a mobile app experience designed to support HVAC technicians throughout the installation and service process.

The Toolbox platform is built for use by Quilt Certified Partner technicians and is available within the existing Quilt app for iOS and Android. The app is designed to consolidate multiple jobsite tasks into a single interface, reducing the need for separate manuals, paperwork, and tools.

According to Quilt, Toolbox guides technicians through each stage of an installation. Key functions include:

  • Managing installation workflows from start to completion;
  • Adding system devices and sensors;
  • Calculating refrigerant charge;
  • Accessing troubleshooting guides and instructional videos; and
  • Completing homeowner handoff documentation.

Quilt states that centralizing these tasks can help contractors complete installations more efficiently, reduce callbacks, and improve jobsite consistency.

The launch reflects a broader focus on technician experience, with the platform developed by engineers and designers with backgrounds at Google, Apple, and Nest. Quilt reports that its Certified Partner network includes more than 100 organizations across 26 U.S. states and six Canadian provinces.

Contractors in the network cited time savings from consolidating installation resources into one platform. According to a partner contractor, the app reduces reliance on multiple sources of information and improves installation speed and confidence.

Quilt said additional capabilities are planned for later in 2026, including tools to support remote diagnostics and identify installation issues while crews are still onsite. These features are intended to help contractors address system performance issues before dispatching service technicians.

Toolbox builds on Quilt’s connected system platform, which previously enabled system performance updates through over-the-air software upgrades. Access to Toolbox is provided to certified partners through organization-specific codes within the Quilt app.
