Mason, Ohio (April 30, 2020) – The Harris Products Group has recently been approved to offer North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification for brazing at its Mason, Ohio facility and customer locations throughout the U.S.

More than two dozen of Harris sales and technical representatives were recently certified to teach the three credit hour NATE Course 3067-0001. The course covers the basics of brazing; provides information about base and filler metals and fluxes for HVACR applications; and teaches torch safety. Instructors also conduct brazing demonstrations and allow participants hands-on practice.

Brian Henderson, Harris Products national sales manager for wholesale, said NATE-certification is a great benefit for HVACR technicians and also has far-reaching benefits for industrial contractors, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), distributors and many other professionals involved in the HVACR aftermarket.

“Business is better for everyone when brazing principles are understood and practiced properly,” said Henderson. “NATE-certification helps technicians to produce better-brazed assemblies, provide better installations and service, and reduce problems, which is more cost-effective for all parties. The Harris ProductsGroup has been manufacturing quality brazing products for more than 110 years. We are pleased to share our knowledge and experience and support our customers.”

The training provides valuable continuing education, Henderson added. “In recent years, new alloy solutions have been introduced such as aluminum brazing that can be difficult to master without the proper instruction," he said.

The Harris Products Group has developed proprietary brazing technology to ensure the highest standards of quality and traceability in both equipment and consumables.
