Crockett Facilities Services Bestows Scholarship

This is the second year that Crockett Facilities Services has funded a college scholarship to help students in their pursuit of a higher education.

Crockett Facilities Services, Inc. (CFSI), a leading provider of building operations and maintenance, mechanical contracting and HVAC services to government and commercial clients, today announces that Joel Vazquez, a senior at Bowie High School in Bowie, Maryland, has been awarded the Esparza Crockett Presidential Scholarship for $2,000. This is the second year that Crockett Facilities Services has funded a college scholarship to help students in their pursuit of a higher education.

"I'm so impressed with Joel's drive, community involvement and scholastic achievements," says Cynthia Crockett, president of Crockett Facilities Services. "I congratulate Joel for his outstanding accomplishments and meeting his goals — such as becoming valedictorian of his high school. I wish him the best as he embarks on the next step in furthering his education."

Joel, the son of CFSI employee Larry Vazquez, was selected for the scholarship based on his 4.375 GPA, along with his American Red Cross community service and extracurricular activities, including president of the National Honor Society and president of the Gentlemen's Club.

"I'm extremely honored to be selected as the recipient of this scholarship," Vasquez says. "I hope to gain a more thorough education in the future and go wherever my path takes me."

The annual Esparza Crockett Presidential Scholarship is open to employees and children/grandchildren of CFSI or its subsidiaries. Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted for admission to an accredited college or university as a full-time student seeking an Associates or Bachelor's degree.
